The 11th edition of the international Film festival of Marrakech (FIFM) honoured the big Moroccan actor Mohammed Bastaoui during the Homage Ceremony held in the Palais des Congres on Monday evening ,
The actress and previous minister of Culture, Mrs Touria Jabrane, delayed the Star of the festival to Bastaoui, reminding of the human and professional qualities of the actor considered by all as "the emblematic figure of the intermediate generation of the Moroccan actors".
Bastaoui «is part of my memory and of myself", she said with emotion, before reminding of the artistic career of the actor. She then talked about the first facts of Bastaoui with the company «the today's Theatre ", and so evoked «the unforgettable great works «that they interpreted together.
Bastaoui thought that this homage concerns all film-makers, actors, and Moroccan film directors". "Without the will of His Majesty king Mohammed the VIth, this festival wouldn't have been able to come into the world" he said addressing his gratitude to the Sovereign as well as to His Royal Highness prince Moulay Rachid, president of the FIFM foundation.
Bastaoui is the third to be honoured during this 11th edition of the FIFM (organised from 2nd till 10th of December), besides the Indian actor shah Rukh khan and the French actor of Moroccan origin Roschdy Zem.
