PresentationIN PARTNERSHIP WITH ARTE
Following the previous years’ success of the screenings for the blind and partially sighted audience, the Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM) continues to program in this year’s edition new audio-described feature films including the new Moroccan feature film adapted in 2011 by the FIFM Foundation to this new technique: this film is lalla hobby directed by Mohammed abderrahmane tazi.
For this 1997 film, the Foundation invited two young Moroccan presenters, Aziza Laâyouni et Mohamed Ammora, to be the audiodescription narrators of the film. Following the example of previous editions, the blind and partially sighted guests of the Festival coming from all around the kingdom are entirely taken care of by the Foundation, thus allowing them to attend the screenings with audio-description of the eight selected films. The alaouite organisation for the Protection of the Blind in Morocco offers the Braille leaflets in three languages (Arabic, French & English) listing the synopsis of the audio-described films. 2011 Cataract Operations
In partnership with the FIFM Foundation, the Hassan II ophthalmology Foundation and the Ministry of Health, cataract operations are provided for the fourth time free of charge to 300 patients from the whole Marrakech tensift al Haouz region. the operations are performed at the ibn al antaki Hospital in Marrakech, from december 5 to 9, 2011.
