FIFM 2011 : Masterclasses

Having hosted Martin scorsese in 2007, alfonso Cuarón, jim jarmusch and emir kusturica in 2009, jean-Pierre et Luc dardenne, Lee Changdong and Francis Ford Coppola (for a Conversation) in 2010, the Marrakech International Film Festival proposes again this year a series of Masterclasses.

Participants for those 2011 Masterclasses include French director and screenwriter jean-jacques annaud, italian director Marco Bellocchio, turkish director and screenwriter nuri Bilge Ceylan, British director, screenwriter and producer Roland joffé, american director and screenwriter terry gilliam. they are moderated by jean-Pierre Lavoignat, cinema journalist and critic, or, for Marco Bellocchio’s Masterclass, n.t. Binh, cinema journalist and critic.

As previously by hosting those Masterclasses, the Festival offers both the students and festival-goers a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes and get a better understanding of the filmmaking creation and process. not often will one meet filmmakers and screenwriters who share their experience. and with festival-goers, cinema fans as well as industry professionals, their mutual passion for the 7th art of cinema.
