				For this eighth edition of the International Film Festival of Marrakech (FIFM) iwould like to insist on our duty towards the foundation of the FIFM to honor the memory of those who participate to the construction of the future.

				In parallel with the extreme richness of this edition of the festival I would like to say that the festival will miss this year the warm sight of HASSAN SQALLI , but the memory of Marrakech will be full of the memory of the great moviemaker of Youssef Chahine who passed away this year too and to whom due to friendship and memory duty we pay him an homage through the projection of seven of his most beautiful films So that the fiftieth anniversary of the Moroccan cinema joins as one of it’s merit figures. Long live to the 7th Art thus allowing us each year in Marrakech to feel the pulse of our world and see how humanity today needs to build and watch all his pictures and dreams.
