This tribute is chanting the ideal tune of a cinema that takes us to the height of reason, when the latter comes to terms with what it cannot see, placing the hereafter among us. The films shown in this framework bring to light a wild and raging, yet contemplative and rigorous cinema, which lays down the prerequisites of pervading truth, elating vision and receding vanity. Authors who favour the wandering of a quest over the arrogance of certitudes make us bewildered spectators to some seemingly formally-composed shots in which the expectation of the unpredictable reinvents fiction.
In this edition, our view of Thai cinema draws the ideogram of a thought whose liberated vitality renews the outlines of pleasure. Hence cinema is still about loving the living.
Selected and competing films introduce concerned directors who act upon the world to transform it, thus raising people’s hopes. These directors see life not as a gift but as a task to perform, and through their films, they introduce works of reconciliation in the garden of time. Noise does no good and good makes no noise. |
