Montxo Armendariz
Born in 1949 in Olleta (Spain), Montxo Armendariz studied electronics before becoming a filmmaker. He started out making short films then his feature film debut Tasio (1984). He directed the acclaimed Secrets of the Heart (1996), which was nominated as Best Foreign Film for the Academy Awards. His films frequently deal with the darker side of social and historical life. |
